Signs of Imbalanced Chakras: What to Look For

Chakras are the seven symbolic energy wheels that begin at the base of the spine and end at the crown of the spine. In Sanskrit, the word chakra roughly translates as “wheel”. They connect with the body with the mind and the mind with the spirit. When these energy centers become imbalanced, it can lead to physical and emotional issues.

Recognizing the signs of an imbalance is key to restoring balance and allowing prana to flow freely. Physical signs of an imbalance in the chakras include headaches, blurred vision, sinus problems, eye strain, seizures, hearing loss, hormonal function, and more. Emotional imbalances can manifest as moodiness, volatility, and difficulty with self-reflection. A fear of ending up alone or a broken heart can indicate a major imbalance in the heart chakra. Chakras can be overactive or underactive. When they are overactive, they may have too much energy flowing through them.

This can lead to hyperactivity and restlessness. On the other hand, when they are underactive or blocked, they may have very little energy flowing through them. This can lead to lethargy and exhaustion. If you are experiencing any of these signs of an imbalance in your chakras, it is important to seek help from a qualified yoga instructor or healer. They will be able to help you identify which chakras are blocked and work to restore balance.

This will help create a clear channel for prana to flow from head to toe. Morgan is a graphic designer and yoga instructor committed to inspiring compassion, balance and centrality, on and off the mat.
